Description

  • General description: Thiophene belongs to the class of polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles, which are carcinogenic compounds found in crude oil.[1] Thiopenes are widely used as building blocks in many agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and material science.[2]
  • Application: Thiophene may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in diesel oil[3] and crude oil[1] using two-dimensional gas chromatography with sulfur chemiluminescence detection.
