  • General description: Sodium iodide is a water soluble[1] iodide salt.
  • Application: Sodium iodide was used as a component in the preparation of Mayer′s hematoxylin stain solution.[2]It may be used in the following processes:Precursor in the polymerization of butyl acrylate.[3]Chaotropic agent in the extraction of DNA.[4]Deprotecting agent in the removal of N-tert-butyloxycarbonyl group in amino acids.[5]Water-soluble fluorescence quenching reagent.[1]
