Description

  • General description: N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is a water-miscible organic solvent used in the synthesis of styrene′s, vinyl resins, linear polyesters, acrylic fibers, plastics, pesticides, and synthetic leather. Additionally, it is utilized in the production of adhesives, films, and paint. It participates in dehydrogenation, dehydration, halogenation, deprotonation reactions and reductive carbonylation of transition metals. It can also act as catalysts, promoters, halogen/alkoxy or hydroxyl/halogen exchange mediators, reducing agents, and sources of the base.
  • Application: N,N-Dimethylacetamide can be used as a solvent in the synthesis of:Cellulose-HA (hydroxyapatite) nanocomposites using microcrystalline cellulose, CaCl2, and NaH2PO4.5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from various carbohydrates and natural biopolymer lignocellulose in the presence of LiCl. It can also be used:In the Pd-catalyzed regioselective synthesis of ketones from olefins using molecular oxygen.As a solvent as well as a methylene source in the regioselective linkage of two imidazo[1,2-a] pyridines using Cu(OAc)2 catalyst.
