• General description: Dermatan sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) that is mainly located in the skin and is also found in various mammalian tissues. It is made up of repeating units of N-acetyl-d-galactosamine (GalNAc) and l-iduronic acid (IdoA). Dermatan sulfate interacts with proteoglycans and plays a role in regulating several biological activities, including coagulation, angiogenesis, tumor migration, and growth factor expression.[1]Dermatan sulfate USP reference standard is provided as delivered and specified by the issuing Pharmacopoeia. • Application: The Dermatan sulfate USP reference standard is intended for use in specified quality tests and assays.
