Description

• General description: Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards. Furosemide is a diuretic drug, which finds a variety of therapeutic applications such as hepatic cirrhosis, cardiac insufficiency and arterial hypertension.[1]
• Application: Furosemide may also be used as a reference standard in determining the concentration of furosemide present in human urine samples using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS).[3] Furosemide may be used pharmaceutical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.[2]
