• General description: Thymine (Zidovudine Related Compound C) is a process related impurity of antiretroviral drug zidovudine. Zidovudine belongs to the class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors and is generally used in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.[1][2]Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
