• General description: Ergosterol is a biological precursor of Vitamin D2 found in cell membranes of fungi and some protists such as trypanosomes. It is a major sterol found in fungal cell membranes.[1]Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
