Description

  • General description: Benzyl alcohol, an aromatic alcohol, is widely used in cosmetics and hair dyes.[1] It undergoes oxidation in the absence of solvent catalyzed by Pd catalysts supported on TiO2 functionalized with various amounts of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES).[2]
  • Application: Benzyl alcohol may be used in the preparation of benzoic acid, via oxidation.[3]
