Description
- General description: Neotame is a white colored, dipeptide methyl ester[1], which is found to be a highly potent and non-nutritive sweetener or flavour enhancer and hence finds applications in variety of foods.[2][3] It is manufactured from aspartame and 3,3-dimethylbutyraldehyde in a one-step chemical synthesis process.[1]
- Application: Neotame may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in the following:Wine samples using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).[6]Wastewaters using hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC).[4]Food samples using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).[7]
