- General description: Echinacoside (ECH) is a typical phenylethanoid glycoside. It is known to contain multiple unstable chemical bonds and high reactive functional groups which aids to pathways involving degradation and metabolism. It is isolated from the stems of Cistanches salsa. It is a crude drug mostly used as antisenium and antifatigue agents.[1]
- Application: Echinacoside USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia.
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Caffeic acid glycoside found in herbal medicine. Potential therapeutic for Parkinson′s disease.
