- General description: Mesalamine is a drug, which is structurally similar to salicylates. It exhibits anti-inflammatory activity and is widely used as a medication for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative proctitis and Crohn′s disease.[1][2]Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
- Application: Mesalamine may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations using spectrophotometric technique.[1][2]
