- General description: Metoprolol Tartrate is a β-blocking drug, showing antihypertensive and anti-ischemic effects.[1] It is widely used in the treatment of hypertension[2] and helps in controlling ventricular response in patients with atrial fibrillation.[1]
- Application: Metoprolol Tartrate may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations[3][4] using densitometric technique[4] and spectrophotometric technique.[3]
