Description
- General description: Phentolamine Mesylate belongs to the class of alpha adrenergic antagonist drugs. It is used in the treatment of pheochromocytoma-related hypertension, erectile dysfunction and in the diagnosis of pheochromocytoma and norepinephrine-related dermal necrosis.[1][2][3]Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
- Application: Phentolamine Mesylate may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by chemiluminescence technique.[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: α-Adrenergic receptor antagonist; peripheral vasodilator.
