- General description: 6-Acetyl-1,1,2,4,4,7-hexamethyltetralin (musk tonalide) is a polycyclic musk which belongs to the class of tetralin compounds.[1][2] It is widely used as a fragrance ingredient in consumer products, mainly soaps, detergents, cosmetics, and cleaning agents.[3]
- Application: 6-Acetyl-1,1,2,4,4,7-hexamethyltetralin may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in water samples,[4] fish[5] and perfumes[6] by chromatography-based techniques.
