- General description: (+)-Terpinen-4-ol is an important constituent of tea tree oil, possessing antimycotic activity, which can be extracted from the leaves and flowers of Melaleuca alternifolia.[1]
- Application: (+)-Terpinen-4-ol has been used as a standard in studying the effect of tea tree oil extracted from Melaleuca. Alternifolia tree on cereal pathogenic fungi like Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium culmorum and Pyrenophora graminea.[1]
- Other Notes: Highly purified monoterpene. Chiral starting material for many hydroxylation and epoxidation reactions[2][3][4]
