- General description: Alsever′s solution is an isotonic, balanced salt solution. It is routinely used as an anticoagulant or blood preservative, which permits the storage of whole blood in refrigerators for approximately 10 weeks.
- Application: Alsever′s Solution has been used:as a preservative of whole blood collected from Meleagris gallopavo, Oreochromis niloticus, and Salmo salar[1]as a diluent for severe acute respiratory syndrome–related coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) peptide Kode Technology-modified red cells (C19-kodecytes) [2]for preserving hemolymph collected from shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)[3]
