  • General description: trans-4-Octene is an acyclic olefin. Its synthesis has been reported.[1] Its Raman spectra has been reported.[2] Rate constant of the gas-phase reactions of trans-4-octene with hydroxyl radicals[3] and ozone has been investigated.[4] Its enantiomeric epoxidation has been studied.[5] Its isomerization into isomeric octenes has been studied.[6]
  • Application: trans-4-Octene may be used in the synthesis of the following:n-nonanal[7] aliphatic unsaturated polyesters[8]4-isopropyloctane[9]diasterioisomeric 4-(difluoroiodomethyl)-5-iodooctane[10]siliranes[11]m-dioxanes[12]
