Description

  • Application: Zinc powder is generally used as a reagent for the Clemmensen reduction of ketones.[1]It can also be used as a:Reducing agent in the preparation of graphene from graphene oxide using ultrasonication method.[2]Reducing agent in the oxidation of benzene to phenol by vanadium substituted heteropolyacid catalyst and oxygen oxidant.[3]Reactant in the preparation of alkyl zinc reagents by direct insertion of zinc powder into unactivated alkyl bromides and chlorides.[4]Catalyst in selective Fries rearrangement of acetylated phenols.[5]
  • Other Notes: Reagent for the Clemmensen reduction of ketones and the Reformansky reaction[6][7]
