  • General description: Potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution is a strong alkali widely used in chemical synthesis. Van Slyke apparatus and Hildebrand adsorption technique have been utilized to determine the solubility of oxygen in different concentration of KOH solution.[1]
  • Application: Potassium hydroxide solution may be used in the following processes:Depolymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) flakes.[2]Synthesis of potassium bicarbonate and potassium carbonate.[3]As an eluent in the nonsuppressor ion chromatography to separate and determine inorganic and organic anions.[4]Saponification of fruit seed oil to determine tocopherols and tocotrienols.[5]
