  • Quick, three-step method measures absorbance linearity, wavelength accuracy, and wavelength precision
  • Absorbance linearity
  • Kit uses holmium oxide solution as wavelength reference standard
  • Calibrates at 241, 278, 287, 361, 451, and 537nm
  • To check wavelength accuracy, fill cell with holmium oxide solution and measure absorbance ±5nm from target wavelength
  • Wavelength error is the difference between observed wavelength at maximum absorbance (λ max ) and target wavelength
  • Wavelength precision
  • To determine wavelength precision, calculate wavelength accuracy, then set detector wavelength at least 10nm from target wavelength
  • Reset wavelength to target wavelength and record absorbance
  • Wavelength precision equals the relative standard deviation of five measurements
