• Use Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ PathoDx™ Respiratory Virus Panel Control Slide along with PathoDx Respiratory Virus Panel (RVP) kit while performing direct immunofluorescence tests
• Viral respiratory diseases in children and adults cause significant morbidity and mortality, especially in young children and older adults
• Respiratory specimens (nasopharyngeal aspirates or swabs) are tested for the presence of viral antigen
• Culture isolation/confirmation is the standard method for most clinical virology laboratories
• The Negative Control Reagent contains fluorescein-labeled murine antibodies which do not react with the viral agents
• Ready to use - Prepared reagents Easy to store - Store at 2-8°C Easy to interpret - Uninfected cells will stain red due to the Evans blue counterstain in each staining reagent Negative Control Reagent (Red Cap) is one dropper bottle containing 10.0 mL of fluorescein-labeled purified murine IgG antibodies that are non-reactive with any respiratory virus, and Evans blue counterstain in a protein-stabilized buffer solution, with 0.098% sodium azide as preservative
• Each control slide has eight wells and each well is clearly marked with the type of virus-infected cell that is on the slide
• One of the wells contains uninfected LLC-MK2 cells and the slide is fixed in acetone
