Description

  • General description: Aluminosilicate, mesostructured (Al-MSU) is an analog of hexagonal MCM-41 that can be assembled by zeolite seeds. It is hydrothermally stable and strongly acidic, which makes it useful in catalysis and adsorption technology.[1][2]
  • Application: Al-MSU can be used as an adsorbent in the formation of hybrid membranes for fuel cell applications.[3] It can also be used as a catalyst for biomass pyrolysis and production of aromatic amine antioxidants.[4][5]
  • Formula variant: (SiO2)0.9875(Al2O3)0.0125­­·xH2O
