- Precipitation solution offers major advantages over other RNA precipitation methods in that it does not precipitate DNA, protein, or carbohydrates
- It is supplied in one bottle of 100 mL at a concentration of 7.5M
- It is the method of choice for removing inhibitors of translation or cDNA synthesis from RNA preparations
- Note : LiCl precipitation may not remove all DNA contamination from total RNA isolations
- If the RNA is to be used for RT-PCR, it should be DNase I treated
- The solution is rigorously tested for contaminating nonspecific endonuclease, exonuclease, and RNase activity
