• General description: Anti-von Willebrand Factor is produced in rabbit using purified von Willebrand factor (factor VIII R:Ag) as the immunogen.
• Specificity: The antibody specifically reacts with the cytoplasm of human endothelial cells from normal and neoplastic blood and from lymphatic vessels. It also reacts with human endocardium, platelets and megakaryocytes. It may be used for immunohistological studies of the vascular structures in frozen tissue preparations and enzymatically pre-digested, formalin, methacarn, Bouin′s or ethanol-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
• Immunogen: von Willebrand Factor (Factor VIII-related antigen) from human plasma.
• Application: Anti-von Willebrand Factor antibody produced in rabbit has been used for:western blot analysis and immunostainingimmunocytochemistryimmunohistochemistryindirect immunofluorescence
• Biochem/physiol Actions: It mediates platelet adhesion to injured vessel walls and serves as a carrier and stabilizer for coagulation factor VIII.
• Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide
• Preparation Note: Whole antiserum is purified to provide an IgG fraction of antiserum.
