- General description: The Human Angiopoietin-2 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human Angiopoietin-2 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.
- Immunogen: Recombinant Human Angiopoietin-2
- Application: For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Angiopoietin-2 (ANGPT2) belongs to the family of angiogenic factors. ANGPT2 is a competitive antagonist of ANGPT1 and reduces vascular stabilization.[1] ANGPT2 is a potent marker for liver cancer.[1][2] ANGPT2 binds with tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like and endothelial growth factor (EGF)-like domains 2 (Tie-2) and causes neoangiogenesis in liver cirrhosis.[2] Upregulation of ANGPT2 might have an adverse effect on kidney physiology and function. Overexpression of ANGPT2 leads to endothelial damage and dysfunction resulting in diabetic nephropathy in diabetic patients.[3] ANGPT2 is a potent marker for detecting lung cancer progression.[4] Upregulation of ANGPT2 promotes signal transduction for tumor progression in epithelial ovarian cancer.[5]
