- General description: The Human CEACAM-1 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen- related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human CEACAM-1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.Serum carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein and is localized to endothelial, epithelial, lymphoid and myeloid cells.[1]The CEACAM-1 gene is mapped to human chromosome 19q13.2.[2]

- Biochem/physiol Actions: Serum carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1) participates in cell adhesion mechanism through homophilic or heterophilic interactions.[3] Abnormal expression of the CEACAM1 gene is observed in a number of tumors.[4] Ceacam1 possesses tyrosine phosphatase, an inhibitory motif, via which the receptor activates its inhibitory signals.[5]
