- General description: The Mouse bFGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor basic) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse bFGF in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

- Biochem/physiol Actions: Fibroblast growth factor (basic) (bFGF), also known as fibroblast growth factor 2 induces neuronal proliferation, neurite outgrowth, chemotaxis, cell adhesion and migration. bFGF derived from airway smooth muscle cells plays a key role in the formation of lymphocyte-derived membrane conduits for intracellular communications.[3] FGF2 basically functions in the formation of new blood vessels and promotes angiogenesis in cancer cells and chronic inflammatory diseases.[4] FGF2 promotes prostate cancer by causing genome instability.[5]
