- General description: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is produced by thymus epithelial cells in adults. It is located on human chromosome 6p21.1[1] The Mouse VEGF ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse VEGF in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.

- Biochem/physiol Actions: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) supports vascular homeostasis.[4] Vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) modulates angiogenesis, vascular permeability and growth. It plays a vital role in the progression of the vasculature. Deficiency of VEGF-A leads to endothelial dysfunction, hypertension, ischemia and blood clotting.[5]
