- General description: Naphthol AS-BI (7-Bromo-3-hydroxy-2-naphtho-o-anisidine) is a substituted naphthol.[1]
- Application: Naphthol AS-BI phosphate disodium salt hydrate is suitable to use:in tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining to detect osteoclast activity[2]as a component in Tris-HCl in staining cells to measure alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity[3]to perform alkaline phosphatase reaction[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Naphthol AS-BI (7-Bromo-3-hydroxy-2-naphtho-o-anisidine) can be used as a substrate to determine alkaline and acid phosphatase. It is also used to determine the activity of acid phosphatase in single cells.[1]
- Substrates: Substrate for the histochemical demonstration of acid and alkaline phosphatase.
