Description

  • General description: Porous polymers are the most suitable adsorbent for applications based on the analysis of gases, acids, amines, organics of low carbon number and water.[1] They are best suited for gas chromatography and are basically copolymers of polydivinylbenzene (DVB) which are very porous in nature ranging from mesoporous to microporous.[2] Porapak™ Q is a porous polymer composed of ethylvinylbenzene and divinylbenzene mostly suitable for the separation of hydrocarbons, organic analytes in water, and oxides of nitrogen.[1]
  • Application: Porapak™ Q packed in a stainless steel GC column maybe used for oxidation reduction experiments for designing of appropriate surface sites for ruthenium-ceria catalysts supported on graphite by controlled preparation method.[3]
