  • Application: Oxidation Reactions: Acetic acid is used in oxidation reactions, such as the aerobic oxidation of diols to acetic acid in water. This process is significant for producing acetic acid from renewable resources, contributing to sustainable chemical production. Recent studies have explored the use of catalysts in these oxidation reactions, highlighting the potential of acetic acid in green chemistry applications (Oberhauser, Results in Chemistry, 2023).
