Description

  • General description: Bone and tooth implant materials have been prepared from polycrystalline hydroxyapatite. The compressive, flexural, torsional and dynamic torsional strengths of polycrystalline hydroxyapatite were investigated.[1] Electrophoretic deposition of hydroxyapatite on to flat titanium plate material has been studied.[1][2]
  • Application: Hydroxyapatite may be used in the preparation of bioceramic specimens by incorporation of a small amount of silicon (0.4wt%) into the structure of hydroxyapatite.[5] It may be used for the preparation of porous microstructures, having important prosthetic applications.[2]
