  • Application: Diethylamine can be used as:A catalyst in the tandem Knoevenagel-Michael reaction of dimedone with aromatic aldehydes to synthesize bis-dimedone derivatives.A solvent to synthesize 4-quinolones via Sonogashira cross-coupling of iodoanilines and alkynes.A base in the desymmetrizing cyclization of benzylic diallyl iodide to synthesize methylene indanes via intramolecular Heck reaction.A template in the synthesis of silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO) molecular sieves.
