- General description: Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide 30-hydrate is commonly used as a strong base and phase-transfer catalyst in organic synthesis.[1][2] Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide 30-hydrate (TBAH) dissolved in HPLC grade diethyl ether has been used to compose the solvent system in a study.[2][3]
- Application: Tetrabutylammoniumhydroxide 30-hydrate (TBAOH) can be used as:A catalyst in the hydroxyalkylation reaction of phenols with cyclic carbonates to synthesize aryl β-hydroxyethylethers.A base for the selective degradation of lignins to monomeric aromatics.A reactant to synthesize hydroxyfuroxan tetrabutylammonium salts by reacting with nitrofuroxans.It can also be used in the solvothermal synthesis of SNS (simple nanoscroll structures) and INS (intercalated nanoscrolls) hexaniobate nanoscrolls.
