  • General description: Cyanocobalamin (B12) is a water soluble vitamin, which belongs to the B12 class of vitamins, commonly called as cobalamins.(1) It is mainly found in animal products such as dairy products, meat and also eggs.[1] It can find applications in the preparation of multivitamin supplements and fortified food.[2] It works as a coenzyme to convert L-methylmalonyl CoA to succinyl CoA, which is catalyzed by isomerase.[2]
  • Application: Cyanocobalamin (B12) may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations and food products by various chromatography techniques.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
