• General description: Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.Benzyl alcohol is used as a preservative in pharmaceutical preparations in concentration up to 2% and as a solubilizer in concentrations of 5%. It is effective against gram-positive organisms.[1]
• Application: Benzyl alcohol may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by chromatography[2] and spectrophotometry.[3][4]
