- No significant cross-reactivity to beta-Amyloid 42 has been observed
- Previous lots of this antibody recognized the sequence of beta-Amyloid [1-40] in the region from amino acids 15-30
- No blocking activity was observed with beta-Amyloid [1-12] whereas the peptides beta-Amyloid [14-35], beta-Amyloid [15-28], beta-Amyloid [17-30] and Beta-Amyloid [1-40] were all able to block antibody activity
- Beta-amyloid is a 40–43 amino acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein, and a putative gamma-secretase
- Amyloid beta (1-40) together with Amyloid beta (1-42) are two major C-terminal variants of the amyloid beta protein, constituting the majority of amyloid beta proteins
- Both the amyloid beta (40) and amyloid beta (42) alloforms are major components of the extracellular plaques found in Alzheimer's disease brain tissue.
