- Description: This B73.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD16, a member of the Fc receptor family also known as Fc gamma RIIIa and Fc gamma RIIIb
- This 50-65 kDa receptor is expressed on natural killer cells, neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages
- Crosslinking of CD16 in natural killer cells and monocytes results in activation of the MAPK and PI3K signaling pathways, thus regulating the production of TNF alpha, IL-6, and IL-1 beta
- This monoclonal antibody has been shown to block Fc receptor functions
- Applications Reported: This B73.1 (B73.1.1) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: This B73.1 (B73.1.1) antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal peripheral blood cells
- This can be used at 5 μL (0.5 μg) per test
- A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL

- This gene, FCGR3A, shares a high degree of similarity with another nearby gene, FCGR3B, located on chromosome 1
- The receptor encoded by this gene is expressed on natural killer (NK) cells as an integral membrane glycoprotein anchored through a transmembrane peptide, while FCGR3B is expressed on polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) where the receptor is anchored through a phosphatidylinositol (PI) linkage
- Mutations in this gene have been associated with immunodeficiency 20 and have been linked to susceptibility to recurrent viral infections, susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus, and alloimmune neonatal neutropenia
- Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene
- Diseases associated with FCGR3A include Immunodeficiency 20 and Herpes Zoster.
