Description

• Description: The X2/45-12 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human IL-4 receptor alpha chain
• IL-4 receptor alpha chain (CD124) is crucial for the binding and signal transduction of IL-4
• Both IL-4 and IL-13 use the IL-4 receptor alpha chain as their receptor component and activate many common signal pathways
• Applications Reported: X2/45-12 has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis
• X2/45-12 has also been reported in neutralization of human IL-4 function
• Applications Tested: The X2/45-12 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells
• This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per test
• A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL
• Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test
• It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest
• Storage and handling: Use in a sterile environment
• Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered
• Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE
• Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.001 ng/μg antibody, as determined by LAL assay

• IL4 Receptor alpha (IL4RA) is the alpha chain of the interleukin 4 receptor which binds to both interleukin 4 and interleukin 13 to regulate IgE production, chemokine and mucus production at sites of allergic inflammmation
• The IL4 response is involved in promoting Th2 differentiation
• The secreted extracellular domain of IL4R alpha, called sIL4R alpha, can inhibit IL4-mediated cell proliferation and IL5 upregulation by T-cells
• It has no signaling abilities
• Allelic variations in the IL4RA gene have been associated with atopy, a condition that can manifest itself as allergic rhinitis, sinusitus, asthma, or eczema.
