- C11orf59 is positively regulated by cellular cholesterol depletion and negatively regulated by cellular cholesterol loading
- It is involved in LDL uptake and cholesterol homeostasis
- C11orf59 and PPAR-alpha work together to control lipid and carbohydrate metabolism in diabetes
- Nearly all effects of C11orf59 are associated with mTORC1 kinase growth promotion, and disregulation of the normal mTOR pathway.
