- 7KMWCO Lnx1 (Ligand of Numb Protein X 1) protein is encoded by the Lnx1 gene located on chromosome 4 in humans and is known as PDZRN2 (PDZ domain-containing RING finger 2)
- It is through its RING finger and PDZ domains that Lnx1 forms oligomers and interacts with some of its target proteins such as JAM4 to form multiprotein complexes
- Lnx1 is best studied as a E3 ubiquitin ligase that also contains the NPXY motifs which allows binding to the Phosphotyrosine binding domain (PTB) on Numb protein
- This interaction has been shown to be responsible for ubiquitination of Numb, which prevents the proteasomal degradation of Notch intracellular domain (NICD) and thus positively regulates the Notch signaling pathway.
