- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration

- Anti-GLYCEROL KINASE is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glycerol Kinase [Cellulomonas species]
- Cross reactivity against Glycerol Kinase from other sources is unknown
- The product of this gene belongs to the FGGY kinase family of proteins and encodes glycerol kinase
- Glycerol kinase is a key enzyme in the regulation of glycerol uptake and metabolism
- It catalyzes the phosphorylation of glycerol by ATP, yielding ADP and glycerol-3-phosphate
- Defects in this gene are the cause of glycerol kinase deficiency (GKD)
- Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
