Description
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration

- Dilute only prior to immediate use
- Anti-Pyruvate Kinase Antibody is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Pyruvate Kinase [Rabbit Muscle]
- Anti-Pyruvate Kinase has been reported to react with all forms of pyruvate kinase (pan M-PK)
- Cross reactivity against Pyruvate Kinase from other sources may occur but have not been specifically determined
- PKM2 is a pyruvate kinase that catalyzes the production of phosphoenolpyruvate from pyruvate and ATP
- PKM2 has been shown to interact with thyroid hormone, and thus may mediate cellular metabolic effects induced by thyroid hormones
- PKM2 has been found to bind Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence to and invasion of human cells, suggesting a role of this protein in bacterial pathogenesis
- Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms of PKM2 have been reported.
