Description
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration

- Anti-Xanthine Oxidase antibody is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Xanthine Oxidase [Bovine Buttermilk]
- Cross reactivity against Xanthine Oxidase from other sources is unknown
- XDH belongs to the group of molybdenum-containing hydroxylases involved in the oxidative metabolism of purines
- The enzyme is a homodimer
- This protein can be converted to xanthine oxidase by reversible sulfhydryl oxidation or by irreversible proteolytic modification
- Defects in xanthine dehydrogenase cause xanthinuria, may contribute to adult respiratory stress syndrome, and may potentiate influenza infection through an oxygen metabolite-dependent mechanism.
