Description

• Store vial at -20°C prior to opening
• Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature
• This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid
• Dilute only prior to immediate use
• The antibody is directed against the extracellular domain of the human IL-1R type II, but precipitates the intact receptor expressed on human cells
• In general, this antibody also detects primate IL-1RII
• The antibody does not recognize human IL-1, IL-1Ra or IL-1R type I
• In ELISA formats and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody will detect the extracellular domain of the IL-1R type II (also called soluble IL-1R type II) found in human body fluids, particularly in the circulation, urine and supernatants of cells and synovial fluid
• This antibody can be used for FACS analysis
• Caution should be exhibited as the F( c) domain of the rabbit IgG molecule may interact with cells non-specifically
• The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin 1 receptor family
• This protein binds interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor, type I(IL1R1/IL1RA), and acts as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands
• Interleukin 4 (IL4) is reported to antagonize the activity of interleukin 1 by inducing the expression and release of this cytokine
• This gene and three other genes form a cytokine receptor gene cluster on chromosome 2q12
• Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported.
