Description
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration
- For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below
- Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature
- This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid
- Dilute only prior to immediate use
- Anti-Fractalkine is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
- This antibody is specific for human Fractalkine protein
- A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with Fractalkine from human sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin and anti-Rabbit Serum
- Cross-reactivity with Fractalkine from other sources has not been determined
- Chemokines are a family of proteins associated with the trafficking of leukocytes in immune surveillance and inflammatory cell recruitment
- They are classified based on the positions of key cysteine residues
- CX3CL1 is a CX3C chemokine known to induce adhesion and migration of leukocytes mediated by a membrane-bound and soluble form respectively
- Recent experiments have shown that CX3CL1 can suppress the production of nitrous oxide, interleukin-6, and TNF-a in activated microglia and neuronal cells, suggesting that it may act as an intrinsic inhibitor against neurotoxicity by activated microglia
- Its receptor, CX3CR1, also functions as a co-receptor for HIV-1 and HIV-2 envelope fusion and virus infection, which can be inhibited by CX3CL1.
