  • A BLAST analysis using the sequence of the immunizing peptide was used to suggest that this antibody would react with SUMO Activating Enzyme E1 protein from human (100%), bovine, dog, chimpanzee (96%), mouse (93%), and rat (92%) based on a high degree of sequence homology
  • Cross reactivity against this protein from other sources has not been determined
  • Posttranslational modification of proteins by the addition of the small protein SUMO (see SUMO1), or sumoylation, regulates protein structure and intracellular localization
  • SAE1 and UBA2
  • form a heterodimer that functions as a SUMO-activating enzyme for the sumoylation of proteins (Okuma et al., 1999).
