• Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human PTHrP
• Anti-Human PTHrP-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human PTHrP matrix
• Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human PTHrP by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required
• This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human PTHrP (500-P276Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human PTHrP
• Western Blot: To detect Human PTHrP by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL
• Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human PTHrP is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions
• The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the parathyroid hormone family
• This hormone regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth
• This hormone is involved in lactation possibly by regulating the mobilization and transfer of calcium to the milk
• The receptor of this hormone, PTHR1, is responsible for most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy
• Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been observed
• There is also evidence for alternative translation initiation from non-AUG (CUG and GUG) start sites, in-frame and downstream of the initiator AUG codon, to give rise to nuclear forms of this hormone.
