• Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human GM-CSF
• Anti-Human GM-CSF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human GM-CSF matrix
• Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human GM-CSF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required
• This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human GM-CSF (500-P33Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human GM-CSF
• Western Blot: To detect hGM-CSF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1- 0.2 μg/mL
• Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant hGM-CSF is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions
• The GM-CSF gene encodes for a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes
• The active form of the protein exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space
• This gene is located in a cluster of related genes at the chromosome region 5q31, which has been associated with interstitial deletions in the 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia
• Other genes in the cluster include interleukins 4, 5, and 13
• The gene is involved in promoting tissue inflammation
• Elevated levels of cytokines, including the one produced by this gene, have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome
• Mice that lack this gene or its receptor have been shown to develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
