  • Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Protein A [Staphylococcus aureus]
  • Cross reactivity against Protein A from other sources is unknown
  • Protein A is an Orphan-U GPCR with an unknown ligand
  • This gene was identified from genomic analysis of a gene-dense region at human chromosome 12p13
  • It appears to be expressed mainly in the brain
  • However, its function is not known
  • Three alternatively spliced variants have been described; the full length of the third variant is yet to be determined.
